Social Corporate Responsibility: The Color of the Sun.
This pioneering publication documents for Spain the first colour photography procedure widely accessible to the public. The autochrome plate, created around 1903 by the Lumière brothers, better known as the inventors of cinema, became a leading technology in this art form as early as 1907.
Most of the autochrome plates published in this book are shown for the first time. All of them were made in Spain, some by native photographers and others by foreigners sent to the country by institutions such as the National Geographic Society, The Hispanic Society of America or the Albert Kahn Foundation.
FRV promotes this project because it fits perfectly with its philosophy. The nature of the autocrome procedure is innovative and visionary and has the sun at its heart. The articles and image document with great artistry the enduring relationship of man and the beautiful natural world around him.
