FRV awards the technological management of its solar plants in Spain to Enertis and Satec for 5 million

10/03/2010

Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV) has announced that it has awarded a 5 million euro contract to Enertis Solar and Satec for the installation and maintenance for a term of more than twenty years of a system of integration, management and technological control of all its photovoltaic energy facilities in Spain.

The system offered by these companies makes it possible to compile and process information on the processes related to the production of photovoltaic solar energy and, according to the press release, is ground-breaking in the world.

Among other possibilities, it permits the identification, in real time, of failures or breakdowns in the production of energy in each of the plants, generating the pertinent alarms and then initiating the actions to overcome any alteration as quickly as possible.

The system will start to be implemented gradually as of this month in the first of the solar operator’s eight plants in Spain, which has more than 100 MW in total installed power. Installation is expected to be completed by March 2011, in all the facilities included in this first phase.

In subsequent phases, FRV, together with the two companies, will analyse the possibility of implementing the system in new facilities of the company in Italy and the USA.
